Spenser McGowan
Owner
Spenser began as an owner-operator in 2013, and has built Top Gear Contracting into what it is today.
Spenser works to provide Top Gear team members with a safe place to work. His constant goal is setting team members up for success while building a career in the environmental drilling industry.
Matthew Hamilton
Operations Manager
Matthew has been in the environmental drilling industry for over a decade. Beginning as a swamper for another drilling contractor, Matthew worked his way to becoming a driller and then moved to Top Gear Contracting. The time at Top Gear allowed for growth and advancement as a driller.
Today, Matthew strives to ensure safety is always top priority at Top Gear. Matthew has taken his high level of service to the office to guarantee customer satisfaction.
Jordon
Weir
Lead Driller
Jordon has been with Top Gear Contracting for over five years, beginning as a swamper and worked his way to becoming Lead Driller at Top Gear. Jordon is a subcontractor with his own AMS drill rig.
Jordon Provides Top Gear clients with the best equipment and the best service. Jordon takes the Top Gear safety program seriously and provides consistent participation.
Curtis
White
Shop Supervisor
Curtis has been with Top Gear since 2015.
Always providing a high quality of service and care to Top Gear’s equipment. Providing quality equipment is our commitment to each client. Ensuring equipment surpasses safety requirements is top priority for Curtis. For Curtis Top Gear’s preventative maintenance program is creed.

We provide environmental and geotechnical drilling, light reclamation, back filling, fencing, dump truck, skid steer and light labor services. We operate across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. We are committed to providing honest billing at rates that offer true value to our clients. The safety of our employees and clients are always at the forefront of everything that we do. Top Gear operates with a SECOR certification from Energy Safety Canada and complies with all municipal and provincial guidelines and regulatory bodies. Environmental impacts from operations are reduced by implementing “green” policies where possible.
